Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at sales@bccoastalgrillingplanks.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  For Oven Use:

  • Preheat Oven to 400.  Turn down to 375 once you place the plank and food in oven
  • Position Oven rack in middle of the Oven
  • Place pre-soaked plank on a cookie sheet or tin foil to catch drips.  (Note:  We like to add a little extra water if using cookie sheet)
  • Cook food to desired temperature.  Be careful when opening the Oven door as there may be hot steam escaping.
  • Rest your food after removing from the Oven.
  • You can reuse your plank by washing it in light soapy water.  Do not submerge the plank in soapy water, wash and rinse at the same time.  You can sanitize in your Oven at 350 for 15 minutes or you can even wash in your dishwasher.

Our cedar cooking products are made from Coastal Western Red Cedar, 100% Home Grown and produced in British Columbia, Canada.

While salmon is the most common food to cook on a cedar plank, any type of fish, meat, or vegetable works well.

We use wood from Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) growing primarily in Coastal regions along the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada.

Our cedar grilling planks are produced on Vancouver Island using mainly vertical grain cedar without knots or cracks to reduce flare-ups and burning.

Our planks are 9/16" thick, great for any type of food and necessary for thicker cuts of seafood, poultry, and meats.

Each plank can easily withstand 2-3 uses on a BBQ and multiple uses in an oven when the directions are followed correctly.

We always know where our cedar has come from and how it has been stored. Our cedar is sourced from British Columbia, Canada.

Our planks are planed for a smooth finish on both sides, making them aesthetically pleasing and easy to handle. They are also sanded and chamfered, giving each plank a smooth, finished look that can go straight from the BBQ or oven to the serving table.
